FOOD SCIENCE EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS

Government Research Scientist
   Conducts scientific studies on food safety and quality.

Corporate Director of Food Safety and Quality
   Develops and implements corporate policy for food safety.

Corporate Research Scientist
   Responsible for developing analytical procedures, design of safety and shelf-life studies, new product and process validation.

Regulatory Affairs
   Oversees the compliance of food safety and labeling regulations for food products.

Quality Assurance Technician
   Conducts tests to monitor product acceptability. Develops product specifications and assists with training new employees.

Quality Assurance Manager
   Directs all QA activities of a firm. Conducts technical services activities.

Laboratory Director
   Develops and implements laboratory procedures for food analysis and manages laboratory activities.

Meat Plant Supervisor
   Responsible for the operation of a certain portion of the plant. Supervises employees of the specific operation.

Meat Buyer
   Develops certain specifications of materials to be purchased. Purchases materials for the operation.

University Professor
   Conducts research on food safety and quality, teaches, and maintains an extension program with industry.

Master Brewmaster
   Individual is responsible for the production of fermented beverages such as beer or hard cider.

Plant Manager
   Oversees the operation of the entire plant. Hires management personnel.

Research and Development
   Conducts research for the development of new products. Tests new products.

Director of Microbiology
   Leads projects on food safety. Performs research on pathogens, bacterial genomics and cell surface adaptation responses.

Corporate Food Safety Manager
   Oversees the operation of the food safety procedures for a food company. Develops corporate food safety procedures.
