Current Position:
  Walter Hartman (1988) is responsible for maintaining and operating the equipment in the dairy lab and helping to teach the dairy processing lab, where dairy products ranging from chocolate milk to cottage cheese are made. In addition to other products, Walter has aided graduate students in research projects involving the feathering of UHT creamers and analyzing the affects pasteurization has on bacteria associated with biofilms. He assists in conducting dairy audits of all Virginia Dairy Processing facilities and is the assistant coach of the Virginia Tech dairy judging team.


Biographical Notes:
  Walter has been married for 27 years and has two daughters. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and golf.
