The Food Science Club at Virginia Tech is a non-profit student organization dedicated to promoting food science and technology through education and service.
Food science and technology is the application of science and technology to the processing, preservation, packaging, distribution, and utilization of food and food products. The field continues to grow, as it has over the last several decades. Excellent career opportunities are available to persons holding degrees.
The mission of the Virginia Tech Food Science Club shall be to foster a close relationship among students and faculty at Virginia Tech, to encourage leadership, and to acquaint students with the scope of Food Science and Technology. The club shall promote the professional growth of students in Food Science and Technology through involvement with the Institute of Food Technologists.
This year the Club will try to educate students and faculty through fun socials, trips, fundraising products, and guest speakers.
