Biographical Notes & Research:
Govind is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Food Science. His interests include food safety, foodborne
pathogens, antimicrobials, molecular stress response, novel methods for pathogen detection and enumeration. He is
studying the effects of Ozone and UV on Listeria monocytogenes in chill brines under the advisement of Dr. Rob
Williams. I have also been a TA for the food microbiology laboratory (FST 4604) and have worked with Joell A Eifert
(Director, Food Processor Technical Assistance Program) in analyzing food for new product developers
