Students interested in undergraduate research opportunities in the Department of Food Science and Technology can contact Dr. Bill Eigel, the academic coordinator, for a list of faculty and their research interests. Students should review the list of current research that is taking place, meet with the professor conducting the research, and then choose their area of study. Many faculty also list their research on their faculty web page.
The Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station (VAES) performs research on food and fiber systems, their impact on the environment, and natural and human resource issues relating to the future needs of Virginia, the nation and the world. VAES has faculty members at twelve agricultural research and extension centers and throughout the colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Human Resources and Education, Natural Resources and Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. Students should contact faculty directly or talk to their academic department or the individual Agricultural Research and Extension Center (AREC).
